Fresheners and hygiene for restaurants

A restaurant gets judged twice on smell: once at the door, and again in the washroom. The dining room in between should smell of whatever is on the menu.

Where each product goes

Washroom. This is where fragrance does its job. A toilet air freshener or a wall-mounted automatic air freshener dispenser on a timer keeps the room fresh between cleans. In the gents’, a urinal screen in lemon, citrus mango or apple orchid sits in each urinal, and its anti-splash design keeps the floor drier.

At the basin, fit a soap dispenser and either a hand dryer or a towel dispenser. A small restaurant with one basin may find the towel dispenser simpler; a busy one with a queue at the washroom will like the 10 second drying time of the high speed dryer. Put a sanitary bin in the ladies’.

Tables and counter. Napkin dispensers come in wall-mounted and countertop designs, and the same tissue paper dispensers range has 4 ply paper napkins to fill them. Order both together.

Entrance and waiting area. If guests wait at the door, a light fragrance there helps. Citrus or apple from room fresheners work near food. Leave oudh and potpourri for the hotel lobby next door.

Kitchen. Keep fragrance out of it. A hand sanitizer dispenser and a soap dispenser at the staff basin are more use there than any scent.
